Beloved friends, Greetings from the Philippines! We are still in the typhoon season of the year so expect at least 5 more typhoons and more rains before the year is over. We just pray that the worse is over now. Anyway, we are used to these situations and the minstry is not affected much by the calamities unlike those in China and Indonesia where thousands of people lost their lives because of typhoons and floodings. We missed all of you in East Northport Christian. We missed the worship, the message, the praise and worship and the warmth fellowship of the brethren most specially the Women of Grace. We wish that everything goes fine to all of you. I rested for a week before I was able to visit churches around Metro Manila. They are all happy to see me again specially the Christian Women of Metro Manila which I founded 13 years ago. On November 30 there will be an annual Women?s convention in Baguio City. I am determined to go but the condition of my health will finally be the deciding factor. I have not seen any doctor since I arrived. The cost to see a doctor is very prohibitive. We do not have any health insurance here. It's my faith in the Lord and 3 months medical supplies that sustain me. I gained a few pounds since then and my coughing is suppressed. We are busy preparing for Christmas such as putting up the old decors and Christmas light. Leo is busy with his new classes. The second semester started first of November and ends first week of March 2009. He teaches 3 subjects, Church History, Biblical Theology, and Asian Religions. He puts in extra hours in every class because the Lord willing, we plan to return to the States sometime third week of February. Regarding our support, to say it with honesty, it?s way way below the budget we need to survive on a daily basis. I already made an arrangement with MBS president Hoffmann to save the gift from East Northport for Esther, our daughter, so that she could continue teaching at MBS. By this you would know how our mission money from ENCC is being used. Sometimes our friends remember us and send their gifts at the time when we need their help most. In his last letter, Leo mentioned about winning 4 persons to Christ at Caloocan City. Their original province is Mapaniqui, Candaba, Pampanga. One of them is a Village Chief (Barangay Chairman). He took us to this place together with 3 other students. After praying and sharing the gospel to his relatives, another 3 persons accepted Christ. One of them has decided to enroll at MBS and she is now in the seminsry. We plan to return to Mapaniqui, Candaba,Pampanga last week of January to conduct a mass evangelistic meeting. Please pray to the Lord of Harvest that many souls may be won to Christ. We also ask for financial assistance to cover some expenses. In His grace, Zeny |
